Fire, Fire, Fire Station!!!

Lorelei's preschool class at the firestation.

Inside the Firetruck, pretending to take a ride.

Lorelei got to go on a field trip to the Fire Station with her preschool class! I volunteered to go a long and help out. It was a lot of fun as we learned about fire safety. They have now added another step to their fire motto "Stop, Drop and Roll," although I don't think it flows nicely when you say it anymore, I know it has equally the same importance. It is now "Stop, Drop, Cover your Face and Roll. It was cute watching all the kids participate as they followed the fire fighter in this drill. We watched as the firefighter put on about 75lbs of gear on, including his gas mask, which luckily didn't scare any of the kids. We got to climb into the firetruck and look around at all the fun gear and gadgets. They all went home with a free fire hat and sticker. We love our firefighters and are grateful for their service in our community.

Getting too BIG too Fast!!!

So I've decided that there is only one good thing about getting a bigger belly and that is that my boobs aren't the only things sticking out there anymore. I guess I feel that people are finally now focusing on the belly and not that my boobs just grew a couple cup sizes bigger! This is me at 15 weeks a long. Unfortunately, I'm already bigger than my sister Beth who is over 7 1/2 months in her pregnancy. Either I'm going to have a very large baby or my sister just has better stomach muscles than me. Of course, this is her first baby!!
We will have our ultrasound on February 29th, so I'm anticipating the long-awaited day to find out what this baby is, boy or girl. Pencil test says I will be having a boy! We have confirmed their are no twins inside with our other ultrasounds, so Lorelei's dream of having a brother and sister at the same time are gone for now! However she is so excited about the baby and asks about it all the time. She has been very helpful and instructs me not to lift this, bend down or reach that. She keeps asking if it's summer yet! She will be my big helper.
After trying for over 18 months we are now excited to finally be having a baby. I found out that I was pregnant on November 11th and waited until Thanksgiving to tell Chad and family about it. As we were going around the table at Thanksgiving dinner we were telling what we were thankful for. I whispered into Lorelei's ear to have her say a couple things she was thankful for and had her announce the news that she is thankful that she is going to be a big sister. Of course, Chad didn't catch it and then with a surprised look he turned to me and said, "Are you serious?" It was priceless!! So after cooking a full homemade Thanksgiving meal and trying to hold back puking with out giving the surprise away, I was off the hook for clean up and finally got to relax the rest the evening. Can't Wait, just a couple more weeks and I can really start preparing!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!!

My favorite present of all is hugs and kisses from Lorelei!!
Happy 29th and 24 months!
Note to self: This is what happens when you send your husband to pick up a cake for you and it just happens to be Superbowl weekend at the same time.
Next year I will purchase my own cake!!!!

Here we are about to open presents. I got a new hairdryer, Jane Austen Collection on DVD and a new camera which I'm so excited about, once I figure out how to work it. Hopefully my pictures will come out better. Here I am on my third attempt to blow out eight candles on my cake, because I couldn't blow them out on my first try, they would relight them for me to try again. I swear, the baby is taking all my oxygen.

I celebrated my 29th Birthday on January 30th. Although this is my 3rd year claiming I'm 29, at least I feel I can still get away with it and have people believe I'm still in my 20's. I guess I learned this from my granny who died at 92 and still claimed till the day she died that she was 29 years old and in her heart she truly was! I hope I can embrace my 30's and enjoy it, but quite honestly it is a little depressing. I remember when I was young, I thought anyone in their 30's was really old! Maybe it was all those 80's hair do's and their spandex and long shirt outfits that really pushed them over the age limit for me. Thank goodness we have plastic surgery, botox, anti-wrinkle creams and great technology to continue to make us look younger than we really are. Here is to 31 years and counting!!!

Disney on Ice!!!

Mommy and LeiLei's GNO!
Lorelei and Ashely waiting for the show to begin!
Watching the princesses come on stage!
Mickey and Minnie Mouse!!

Lorelei and I had a girls night out with our good friends Tammy and Ashley! We went to see the Princesses on Ice. It was so much fun and the girls just loved it. In fact, I really enjoyed the show too. I was amazed at how well all the skaters performed. We got to see Tinkerbell, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Jasmine and Aladdin, Cinderella, Belle, Mulan, Ariel, Aurora, Snow White and all the princes'. I think they need to add Giselle from Enchanted and we didn't get to see Pocahontas either, but we had plenty of princesses to go around. We saw lots of great skating, acrobats, fire breathing dragons (with real fire) and even had fireworks at the end. It was incredible and we had a blast. The best part is to see your little girls face light up as each princess comes out. It was a great surprise for her. She was so excited and we can't wait to go again next year!! We loved the Princesses on Ice so much that we decided to buy tickets for Nemo on Ice in April. I wish I had more pictures of the princesses, but my battery died in the middle of the show. Dang IT!!!
